Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai Meets with H.E.Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy

On October 12, 2026, H.E. Yu Dunhai, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, met with H.E. Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

Ambassador Yu stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Tinubu, the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has entered a new stage of high-quality development. China stands ready to work with Nigeria to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, further align China’s 15th Five-Year Plan with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and strengthen strategic cooperation in marine sectors. Building on respective development strengths, the two sides will share major opportunities for marine development, jointly tap into the vast   blue economy market, and continuously enrich the connotation of China-Nigeria relations.

Minister Oyetola spoke highly of the growth of Nigeria-China relations and the remarkable achievements made by China in the blue economy. He expressed gratitude for China’s support for Nigeria’s efforts to build the blue economy industrial system, and sated that Nigeria is ready to strengthen cooperation with China in marine sector to pursue high-quality and sustainable development.
